Do You Know What’s In Your Water?: Overview

The first thing that you should know is that your tap water comes from two surfaces: surface water (reservoirs, rivers, and lakes) and groundwater (artesian and deep wells).

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), there are about 150,819 water systems installed in the United States, with only 3% of them being reported as having health-based violations.

Your local city is responsible for cleaning your water. Before the water reaches your faucets, it goes through a disinfection process using chlorination.

TG Analytical Laboratories/Diamond H2O®, can test for or install products that detect a wide variety of bacteria, including Coliform Bacteria/E. Coli, Alkalinity, Arsenic III and IV, Cadmium, Calcium, Chlorides, Chlorine/Chloramines, Chromium, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Hardness, Fluoride, Copper, Lead, Nickel, Nitrate, Nitrite, pH, Ortho-phosphates, Potassium, Silica, Silver, Sodium, Sulfate, Sulfur, Tannins, TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), Zinc, VOCs, Iron Bacteria, and Sulfur Bacteria.
